My name is Sheila Murphy and I am an Ecologist with a farming background. The Salad Project started out as a personal project depicting my salad and vegetable growing adventure based in Co. Mayo and my urban back garden in Galway City.
It's straightforward, I love growing fresh fruit and vegetables. I attempt to grow all produce in an organic, chemical free manner with grá, care and attention. It's something I'm very passionate about, love discussing, trying new varieties and the trials and tribulations associated with it. I also believe growing and horticulture is an amazing way to connect with the environment, our personal well being and acknowledge where our food comes from.
What I do:
Educational workshops to companies, schools, teachers and members of the public on how to grow your own vegetables and establish a vegetable garden.
Development of Biodiversity Actions Plans and Pollinator Plans for community groups, businesses, and schools along with ecological advice.
